BitBucket on a Mac. Setting up BitBucket on a Mac can be troublesome with Mercurial, SSH, etc all needed in order to get going. So, here’s a quick step-by-step guide to setting up a BitBucket Code Repository on Mac OS X. First, you will need to setup and install the following before we get started with BitBucket itself: Install Mercurial. The following instructions detail how to download and install the application on your Mac: Download the latest version of Sourcetree from the official downloads page. Unzip the downloaded zip file by double-clicking it in a Finder window.

For Windows: Download the Git installer. To open a command window, go to Git Bash.vbs from the Git folder of the Programs directory. For Mac: Download the Git installer.
